Concept
So I have a concept. Three actually. I dreamed them. I've dreamed loads of different variations for games but these were the most recent. I will list them in order of recentness I suppose.
HARDCORPS
It's essentially a third person adventure game where you play as a squad of dudes/dudettes. It won't be too large - Maybe six to eight people. The general idea is you're a group of mercenaries, but you have no control over who you play. Each character has advantages, disadvantages, and specialist abilites that means they are more suited to missions than others. The general style of play won't be anything groundbreaking - i'll be a third person game where you fight and explore (with the focus on exploration but the fighting would have to feel good and there'd be a fair bit if it felt good, rather than time consuming and pacebreaking (fable3)). Essentially when you are playing you'll take the role of one of the group - be it the one who has the most impact on the current situation, or the one that may be vital to advance the story at the time.
This will lead to situations where you'll be playing as one guy defending a place or something, then cutscene where say, the sniper of the group is like "Hey, i'm here, by the way. Up on this hill." and you play as them and shoot the fuck out of the rest of the dudes coming towards the place he's defending. This would allow a lot more attachment to all the characters, and each one would be charismatic enough to the player that they would form some sort of care for them. Ergo, when I kill the fuck out of one or two of them in the story, they feel it hard.
No shitty cover based thing though. It may not even be a shooter. It could be whatever the fuck I want it to be. Anyone done a game about a group of guys that just go punching stuff? Streets of double dragon...
CELLULAR (or whatever)
This is another game, one that I thought of a long time ago and that I think is the most interesting of the three. You play as three teenagers in a world in permanent eclipse. It's a 3 player co-op game, and the essential point is that you use cellphones, and it's a stealth game. Since the world is in constant solar eclipse and power is scarce, only certain facilities are fully operational and have lighting etc. Most people have multiple mobile phones as it's the best way to communicate and it's sort of a status symbol. Your three characters are trying to work out what happened to their friend, and so are sneaking into facilities to work out what he found out (or something this is off my head) and by sneaking and using phones (timers, throw a phone then call it, set off ringtones etc) to distract guards, because they are shit at fighting and can only win if it's 3VS1, and other electronic items, try to work their way through and free their friend. Also, it's all black and white.
GENERIC ROLE PLAYING GAME
Like the above, a three player coop. But in the vein of Demon's Souls for gameplay, and depending on what style of play you use you can do different paths through levels. You work in a group like the first game, and are hired out on missions, then you can do stuff like - If one of you is playing as a knight style guy, one is a mage, and one is a thief, (creation is fully customizable) and the mission is to steal documents from a keep, the knight can challenge the guards to a fight on the bridge infront, while the mage heals/casts damage spells on them, and the thief sneaks in via the moat/sewers to get the item. Once he's done, the knight is like "pft, bye" and then they go hand in. Sorted.
